When someone wants a girls' weekend getaway to New Orleans, one might create an itinerary to try some amazing seafood, listen to live jazz music, and party all night in Bourbon Street. However, sometimes planning out the same mundane activities can be so cliché. After frequently traveling around the world for the past few years, I'm constantly on the hunt for finding little gems in every city I visit, and when I discovered Paint'd, I knew I needed a visit. Who wouldn't want to be pampered while traveling?
So, Silvia (AKA @LovelySilvia) and I packed our bags early Friday morning and headed straight to the luxury nail salon to kick-start our fun girls' trip, and let me just say...it's not an experience you would normally expect from any other nail salon.

Before I was traveling to Iceland early this month, I did a little party dance while I was packing. The cold weather, layers of thermal clothing, and winter accessories meant that my face will be covered up for the majority of time. It made me thought, " I don't have to bring a lot of beauty products, right?" At least, that's what I thought when I brought half the amount of makeup with me for the trip. However, once I arrived at the airport, I realized that my combination oily skin was not used to the cold climate of Iceland! I was battling with dry, flaky skin (sorry for the TMI). With the help of my travel squad during my trip, I found out new products that helped my skin conquer the blazing winds of one of the coldest countries in the world:

If it's one thing I've learned about myself while traveling, it's that I can never get over the fact that I can't carry all of my 3.4 fluid oz makeup products when I'm packing one carry on luggage. Do I really have to make all my liquid products fit inside one plastic bag? When I was packing for my Nomoon Retreat to Mexico, I realized that I had to limit the amount of beauty products I brought to the essential items great for tropical weather: sweat-proof, easy to apply on-the-go, and has SPF. This trip inspired me to take on the challenge of sharing with you the top five beauty products I have used daily while I was traveling in Mexico. If you checked out my Instagram, just know that I wasn't staying in a resort the entire trip. Oh no no no....I was snorkeling, climbing a pyramid, swimming in caves, zip lining, walking around Mayan Ruins...all the activities that made my trip filled with outdoor adventures. These five beauty products made the cut for me for enduring the hot climate while making me super photogenic in photos.
Because I am constantly on the go, I tend to bring everything I need for the whole day! More recently, I hardly have enough time to go back and forth from home, so I try to make sure all my essentials fit inside a bag. Ever since I received my new Coach saddlebag, it's been so much easier for me to travel and run errands with ease. The Coach Saddle Bag has two compartments with inside pockets that make it easy for organizing belongings, and the strap can be lengthened or shortened to become a crossbody bag or purse! When it comes to the morning time, I try my best to look decent enough for my daily work. With all the time it takes to go through morning traffic, I realize how much beauty products I carry with me! Today, I'm sharing all the beauty products I carry inside my bag to feel #flawless everyday!
It's the season of giving, and what better way to find a reason to shop than to buy a gift for a friend! In collaboration with my dear friend and fellow blogger, Silvia, I am sharing with you a gift guide that is perfect for anyone for under $30! And trust me, with all the traveling in Asia and fashion products I've tried this year, I have found incredible products along the way. The best part about this gift guide is that I have discount links for most of the items so you can save cash as well- such a plus! Let's begin:
How is it possible that we only have two more months left of 2016? I feel like I was just traveling to Hawaii for my birthday yesterday in January! However, despite the quick rush of time, I have gotten to adore some favorite products during the month of October. Although the items shown in the photo above are pretty random, all of these products have a special place in my heart.
Before I begin, I also wanted to say that this amazing post is in collaboration with my closest blogger friend, Silvia! We both met at a local blog event in Houston, and we've been friends ever since! Her blog is all about lifestyle, travel, food, fashion, and so much more! In person, she is the type of friend that always has such a positive energy and a caring heart. You can check out her portion of the blog here. Now, let's get right into my favorites:
Last week, I had the opportunity to see one of my favorite pop singers, Beyonce, for the first time in Houston! As I was preparing my concert look, I realized how differently I apply my makeup. When you're taking photos and being surrounded by a huge crowd of people all night, it's a struggle to keep makeup fresh and radiant. Today, I'll be sharing tips and products that I normally use when I attend music concerts and shows:
Hey, blog! Meet Ressa back in 2009, and if you're asking yourself why I'm trying to embarrass myself, returning to my home city has made me really reflect my life in high school. It's been five years ago since I graduated- crazy how time flies! I remembered when I would always go home around 8pm every night because of choir and theater rehearsals and concerts, and a lot of my interest in beauty products came from stage makeup. As you can tell from this embarrassing "MySpace style" photo above, I really didn't know anything about applying makeup!
If you have been keeping up with my Instagram lately (@ressamazing), then you'll know that I got the chance to finally island hop around El Nido! It was my very first time island hopping in the Philippines, so I had no clue on what I was expected to bring. So, being the over-packer that I am, I ended up bringing a lot of stuff. However, there were some products and items that weren't necessary. This inspired me to share some tips I have found out during my island hopping adventures. If you are about to go on a beach adventure for the first time, here are some things I've learned:
Now that Fourth of July is here, everyone is head over heels for looking patriotic! It's a great time to spend the holidays with friends and family, eat some good BBQ, and watch fireworks at night, so why not celebrate your love for the USA? I am sharing with you some quick beauty tips that are perfect for the Fourth of July! Let's get started:
