It was an adventure visiting New York early this year as I intentionally missed the crazy crowds of New York Fashion Week. As much as I enjoyed visiting NYFW last year (click for my NYFW blog post), I wanted to explore the city alone for a change. It was late February, and I was contemplating on "how cold is too cold" while packing for the Manhattan winter season. It was my first time visiting the city during the winter months, and if I had a dollar for every time I asked myself," What should I wear?" I'd be rich enough to buy myself a new wardrobe for this entire trip!

Needless to say, I got the shivers while I was bearing the cold winds and icy rain during the first few days...but I quickly learned a lot of the locals' NYC style. With the amount of time I was waiting at subway stations and crossing busy intersections, I was taking mental notes of the outfits that differentiated the true New Yorker from the tourist. All the key trends and styles in NYC that want to know are here for me to spill as you click through and shop all the featured items!

Early this month, I decided to take a trip to Austin with some of my close friends! With festival season starting, I knew I wanted to start off by attending South by Southwest (SXSW). It's one of the few times in the year I'll go out and network with other social media professionals, and I knew it was an opportunity I didn't want to miss (read more about my experience here). As I was chatting about all the fun activities to do during that weekend, my friend blatantly asked, "Cool, so what do you think I should wear?"

It never occurred to me how overwhelming it would be to style outfits to a festival as a blogger. Although comfort is key, making your style stand out from a huge crowd can be really impressionable. With the amount of media and press around the city (aka NY Times, Refinery29, Essense, etc.), your streetstyle outfit can easily be the gateway to self-plugging your online business. So, I decided to share the top trends to wear during SXSW for that picture-perfect festival look. Just be sure to stay tuned at the end of my post for a $700 Nordstrom Gift Card Giveaway!

This year, Spring fashion has never been better. With every magazine spread I've read in Vogue, InStyle, and Elle, the desire to experiment with my style has been refueled and inspired with an array of pretty bright colors and bold jewelry fit for a runway! With all the fun new trips I traveled this past month, I couldn't help but delve into the fun trends this season brings.

When I think of spring fashion, I think of pastel colors, abstract prints, and elegant textures. However, the spring and summer jewelry trends are also implementing those details in a whole new way. Because spring and summer vacations will heavily influence the way you dress, I decided to showcase jewelry pieces I've been loving this month that can be worn in a multiple array of outfits! Plus, I'm happy to partner with Ettika x FabFitFun because I've been wearing Ettika jewelry for years and really appreciate the boho, chic designs. Feel free to click through the items featured in this post because they are also available online (you're welcome)!

Although Valentine's Day may make people buy candy, jewelry, and luxury cars, I'm livingggg for all the pink and red fashion items that hit the stores just for the holiday. The feeling of celebrating someone special this time of year makes me want to dress my best. As a single lady (cue Beyonce), I make it a priority to take care of myself this month and enjoy the time I spend with my close friends.

Galentine's Day has become a special occasion that I look forward each year because I realize how important it is to really cherish the friendships I've made. Blogging has become this really weird circumstance where I meet new people all the time, so forming a tight bond with someone who understands and supports me is something I don't take for granted. In fact, it inspires me to become a better person everyday. For everyone out there who has a great group of gal pals, celebrate your friendship and make the best of the holiday by dressing up! I'm sharing with you some of my favorite Galentine's Day fashion trends that are perfect for the occasion:

When it comes to cold climates and outdoor activities, I usually get into a frenzy with my wardrobe and the overwhelming emotions about what I should wear. "Is this warm enough?" "Is this too trendy to wear for a hike?" "Would I stick out as a tourist wearing this?" are some of the common questions that I ask myself when I was packing for my birthday trip to Denver.

It's true that living comfortably in the South has made me overlook the necessities of winter clothing and the idea of packing light felt close to impossible. Nonetheless, I always try to stay true to my style, and I ended up really surprising myself with how much I enjoyed packing my outfits for Colorado. For those of you who want some outfit inspirations, keep on reading about how I've managed to travel around Denver in style!

When I traveled to San Antonio, I was reacquainted by the beauty of the city. The aged architecture and rich Hispanic art culture are what makes it unique from the rest of Texas! The striking colors and intricate details of the places I've seen during my trip inspired me to make another "How to Dress" series on some of the common trends and styles I've seen. Any of the pieces I post are available online when you click on the widget, so feel free to shop too! Whether you live in San Antonio or you're visiting for the first time, I hope my fashion picks make you feel right at home in the city.

Three Effortless, Affordable, & Everyday Fall Looks For 2017

11/13/2017

This post is in collaboration with Tobi. All opinions are my own.
fall outfit, tobi, clothing, little white dress, holiday fashion, affordable style, houston blogger, style blog, fashion blog, rice village, ressamazing
When I think of Fall fashion, I instantly envy everyone who lives up north. The idea of hiking in isolation, apple picking, staying inside a log cabin and smelling the fresh air of the mountain side makes me wish I lived anywhere besides the aggressively humid, sun-blinding, and crowded population of downtown Houston. Leave a comment below telling me what Fall weather is like in your city!

Although Texas has many charms, it's not particularly the "hot spot" Fall destination. With all the latest Fall collections arriving in stores, it's so hard to wear the latest Fall trends without feeling like you're burning yourself alive. Yet, I still desire to wear a cozy sweater, scarf, and some knee-length boots. Sue me.

With Thanksgiving around the corner (can't believe it's next week!), I wanted to style three everyday looks that can easily be layered- so it can cater to everyone's seasonal climate area. Even when I was shooting around the city, I can guarantee you that these outfits are Houston weather-approved! I will talk in depth about certain pieces of each outfit that were graciously given to me by Tobi and how to elevate them for a casually chic style.  Keep reading for more outfit details!

Happy Halloween! As you can see, I've gone all pink this year with my furry sidekick! Legally Blonde is one of the most popular chick flicks during the early 2000's, and I knew I wanted to recreate this look one day for Halloween:

Who wouldn't want to be Elle Woods?
It was something about the pink leather jacket, flashy sunglasses, and cute pup in this photo that made me wish I was Elle Woods when I was in first grade. Every Halloween, I always try to make a costume that reflects my year. Elle Woods, a fashion student who pursued attending Harvard Law, dropped everything for the guy of her dreams...only to find herself proving to others her capability to be a successful lawyer despite her colleagues (and now ex-boyfriend) believing otherwise. Although my life story isn't entirely aligned with the movie plot, the obstacles Elle Woods faced when she was building her career really spoke to me now that I'm an adult trying to overcome the ideal expectations from my past and embrace the new changes in my future.

And of course, with my new pet Rajah, I knew he was the Bruiser to my Elle! To me, this costume is a big statement for female empowerment! Plus, I also wanted to wear pink to showcase Breast Cancer Awareness Month, too. Continue reading on to learn how you can also create this Halloween look!

October is here, so it's time to celebrate Halloween! Being labeled as the "DIY Queen of Halloween" from my friends for many years gives you a little indication of just how much I absolutely adore this holiday. The idea of transforming into someone else once a year makes me try to find new creative ways to DIY iconic costumes on a budget (if you want to see my Halloween costume last year, click this). Since I want to challenge myself in outdoing last year's costume, I knew I had to start a Halloween costume series this year, and what better way to celebrate early than by exploring the Big Apple: New York City.

If you ever watched Gossip Girl, then you'll completely understand why I chose to run around looking like a wannabe Blair Waldorf in NYC. To keep it short, the show consists of the best fashion outfits to have ever graced television, the most iconic scenes are taken at the most popular areas of the city, and anyone would wish to live the luxurious life of an Upper East Sider. When the television series was running, I remembered drooling over Blair and Serena's wardrobe each episode + wishing I would find a guy like Dan Humphrey. As I was recreating three different looks, I was surprised to find out how easy it was to style Gossip Girl-like outfits. Keep reading on to find out just how easy it is to achieve a stylish Gossip Girl Halloween costume.

Swish to Fall: Summer to Fall Outfit WITH MUK LUKS

October has arrived! What a wonderful season to be in Texas! No matter how much I enjoy living in tank tops and shorts, I can't doubt my love for this month. I'm so excited to start wearing sweaters, booties, and cute scarves, but I know that it will take a while until Houston gets a cold front! Until then, I'm enjoying my time transitioning my summer pieces into Fall-appropriate styles.

Based on what I've seen in magazines, stores, and online sites, a HUGE trend to watch out for are "retro-chic" looks. Pieces that are popular this season are culottes, palazzo pants, bell sleeves, and flared hemming. I wanted to arise to the occasion when I found (probably one of the cutest) folded culottes! Read on to find out how I styled this comfy-chic Fall outfit...
