October has arrived! What a wonderful season to be in Texas! No matter how much I enjoy living in tank tops and shorts, I can't doubt my love for this month. I'm so excited to start wearing sweaters, booties, and cute scarves, but I know that it will take a while until Houston gets a cold front! Until then, I'm enjoying my time transitioning my summer pieces into Fall-appropriate styles.
Based on what I've seen in magazines, stores, and online sites, a HUGE trend to watch out for are "retro-chic" looks. Pieces that are popular this season are culottes, palazzo pants, bell sleeves, and flared hemming. I wanted to arise to the occasion when I found (probably one of the cutest) folded culottes! Read on to find out how I styled this comfy-chic Fall outfit...

As New York Fashion Week ends, I can't help but think about how much this week has flown by in a blink of an eye! I have never been more excited, lost, crazy, sleep-deprived, inspired, and deeply grateful for a trip before. I still can't believe I attended my very first New York Fashion Week. It literally took a village for me to pull this trip together.
From the crazy weather happening in Houston a week beforehand to all the brands willing to provide me the best clothing, hair, and accessories to wear, I couldn't be more thankful for working with people who have stuck through this phenomenal experience with me. Special shout out to Zoe for assisting and photographing my experience last minute! I've been posting about my adventures in NYFW on myInstagram, but now, I'm finally happy to finally share with you all the glitz and glamour from the outfits I've worn while attending the fashion shows. This post is super lengthy- so be prepared to get the full details!

Being safe and sound from Hurricane Harvey this weekend made me inspired to share a lookbook that's perfect for rainy days! Before I write my process of creating each look, I want to say that I am so inspired and in awe with my city and how strong we are through this difficult time. I'm so glad that my family and friends are safe from the storm, and I hope anyone who was affected from the Hurricane finds peace and recovery in time.
Everyone who reached out to me have been so sweet for thinking of me; please note that I am okay. As of writing this post, I still have electricity, internet, clean water, and zero property damages. The most tragic thing that happened was having 2 inches of water in the street...during the most violent hurricane episodes (nothing in comparison to what other people have been going through). With all the chaos happening in my city, I find that creativity has helped normalize my days, kept me sane from cabin fever, and uplifted my spirits.
When looking through my photos, I stumbled upon my photo shoot with Elvis, one of my favorite Houston photographers, back in April. Although it was months ago, I still remembered the drive going to Galveston and wishing it would rain that day so we could have a rainy photo shoot! It was a thrill standing close to the ocean waves and watching the sky change into a hue of gray. I've been waiting for the opportunity to feature this shoot on my blog with justice, so I hope you enjoy looking through the outfits in these photos.
When it comes to gloomy weather, it may bring you less motivation to dress well. However, I find that these are the moments when style is important. Finding inspiration in your closet to wear an outfit that makes you feel your best can make the world of a difference when you are going out on a rainy day or staying in with your family and friends. Read on about how I created some of my rainy day looks:

Austin, TX's style is unlike any other in Texas. Every time I visit, I get a new sense of inspiration from their casual, boho, free-spirited vibe. When I was walking down 6th Street, I loved how experimental people are with their sense of style so much that I felt compelled to make an entire post about how to dress for the city. Although you can pretty much wear anything you want and get away with it in Austin, I came up with 5 different trends and pieces that any Austinite will approve.

So happy to announce a new series in my blog, "How to Dress!" After having so many people comment and ask about what clothes and accessories I wear during my trips, I'm happy to share some fashion inspo and tips of how I travel in style. With the frequent amounts of trips I take, it's nearly impossible for me to own a grand closet and travel the world all the time, but I'm happy to inspire you in how to be resourceful with your own clothes and to make the most out of chic, affordable fashion.
There's no question about why people should travel to New Orleans. The culture, amazing food, and lively music is what attracts people to the city every day. When I traveled to New Orleans early July, I researched various areas and constantly checked the weather conditions in regards to the wardrobe I brought for my trip. Now, the weather was particularly questionable since I was worried about the rain throughout most of the trip. However, once I knew it was going to be sunny, I was really excited in preparing outfits. The city is constantly known for it's bright colored historic houses and mansions, so I ended up choosing summer outfits that fit the vibrant scenery of the city.

Who can believe that summertime in Houston has finally arrived?! With the extreme humidity, rainy afternoons, and endless amount of sun, outfits should be lightweight, comfortable, and easy to wear! Returning back home from Iceland, I quickly adjusted to the climate and created a sweet summer look that will be perfect for any occasion.
October has finally arrived, and I'm already thinking about all the Fall activities taking place this month: costume shopping, pumpkin carving, candy eating, and maybe...a Texas road trip! First things first, I'm excited to wear some fall colors! When I visited a downtown park in Houston, I was shocked by the huge amount of blooming flowers surrounding me. By coincidence, I wore bright, contrasting colors that stood out from the garden backdrop.
Although I'm still wearing light fabrics, I incorporated Fall colors by wearing a burnt orange chiffon blouse with a pleated neckline and sleeves. I especially adored the tied bow in the front! With a nude tank top underneath, I tucked in the flowy blouse with a neon pink, lace skirt. I absolutely adore the vibrancy and feminine details of my skirt- such a striking contrast to my blouse! Not only did the clothing pieces look surprisingly bold together, the color scheme coincidentally fit well with the colorful garden setting!
Have you ever wanted to doll yourself up for no reason? Maybe you wanted to explore a city with no itinerary? If you say yes, then that's exactly how I felt when I styled this flirty, casual look. To my surprise, I found a lovely spot in a downtown park with Houston photographer Irene Santos.
I absolutely adore floral dresses! I especially love how my dress is made of polyester fabric. It felt so lightweight and comfortable when I wore it outside. Plus, the dress structure is loose fitting as it drapes down to a high-low hemline. It's one of my perfect go-to dresses for a sunny daytime look!
Returning to Houston means that I'm constantly searching for ways to be stylish while not looking sweaty from the extreme heat! I really enjoy wearing rompers because the fabrics are lightweight, and they come in so many trendy prints for the summertime. Plus, I love that it's a one-piece outfit, which makes it easier to get ready in the mornings! The romper I'm wearing has a fun, bohemian print that is off-the-shoulder with a cinched waistline.
Remember when gladiator sandals were a huge trend? Well, I'm still rocking it with my wedged Steve Madden sandals. The sandals give me extra height while comfortably walking around all day! I've owned these sandals for so many years, and they are still a staple shoe item in the summertime.
Hello, my lovelies!
I had been so fortunate to stay in the Philippines for a few months this past summer, and I was inspired by the gorgeous prints and summer trends there! It's quite amazing to see how fashion varies from all over the world, and I'm excited to share some of the styles I created from Asia. One of the clothing items I adored while traveling in the Philippines were dusters.
Dusters are loose, flowy dresses that are commonly worn around the house. I really love how dusters come in a variety of colors and bold print! The hot, tropical weather makes dusters more suitable (and preferable) for Filipinas to wear around the house than a shirt and a pair of pants. However, many locals frown upon ladies wearing dusters in public since it's considered a "cheap" look. In fact, many connote dusters for housemaids since they wear them for their job. Despite the stigma for dusters, I bought a ton of them knowing that I would wear them when I returned back home.
